Description:

I have been adopted and now have a new home.

This is a cute little game with a rather nice standing pheasant style one bamboo and simple bouquets of flowers.

The case is made from traditional rosewood. All the case's corner brass trim is intact, the front door slides nicely and even has its little metal pull tab. The drawer pulls are all original and working and all in all its a nice vintage game.

The tiles are 25/75 - 25% bone to 75% bamboo. There are 148 tiles - 144 for playing with and 4 spare blanks. There are 8 flowers - two natural bouquets each numbered 1-4.

The game has the simpler style character tiles so it is quite old - likely from the early to mid 1940's. This gal has been around for a long time and looks in great shape for her years !

I did notice a slight manufacturing flaw (if you can call it that) on one of the two circles. The bone is not 100% rectangular - I don't think it has been damaged - I think it is just a flaw that occurred when it was manufactured. I took a picture (the last one in the slideshow). I checked with my Mahj gals at one of our recent Mah Jong evenings - we played with this game for the whole evening - and we concurred that the small flaw will not affect your ability to play with the tiles ...

This would be a perfect game for a beginner to play with and start their Mah Jong collection - warning ... I started off with one pleasant little vintage game and look at me now !
