This Chinese Bakelite game is called a "turkey bam" because of the design of the one bamboo tiles.

Chinese Bakelite is a term used to identify this style of game. These games were imported from China and are made of Bakelite - they pass the scrubbing bubbles test for Bakelite. Most of the Chinese Bakelite tiles have a sharper edge to them as this set does. The exception to this are the "pillow" style tiles. They have beautifully curved edges.

This game has 8 flowers, 2 sets of fully sequenced bouquets numbered 1-4 with its original 2 blank tiles as spares or jokers. The quality of engraving and the detail of the designs are very intricate. Chinese Bakelite sets are very popular these days.

The case is in good condition especially when you consider it has been around for some 60-70 years. The case has its original leather handle and a green felt lining. The racks are the original black wood racks with gold coin ends. Tokens are included. There are a couple of close up photos of the flowers so you can see how lovely the engraving is. The racks are scuffed but can easily be repainted.
