Description:

I have been adopted and now have a new home.

Mah Jongg Sales of America (MJSA) were located in San Francisco originally in the 1920's and appear to have been the largest importers of Mah Jong games into the US.

Both Bakelite and bone & bamboo games were sold under the Mah Jongg Sales of America logo and their font and spelling of Mah Jong with a double G were copyrighted by the founder Joseph Babcock.

This particular game is a soaring sparrow style game and is an early style from the 40's.

This game has 152 tiles - including 16 flowers - 4 sets of bouquets each numbered 1-4. The style of white, red and green dragons is unique to MJSA.

There are 4 beautiful swirled Bakelite racks in candy apple red, tangy lemon, medium green and deep forest green. Each rack has a complimentary Bakelite E.

The case is sturdy and has minor surface scuffs (note the right latch does not work). It does however still has its original Bakelite handle.

Note: there is a small surface chip on the front face of one of the south wind tiles (in the upper corner). I have played with this game and it does not impede playing.

Take me home !

REMEMBER: Despite my age I have many more years of life left in me ... I may be a little more worn than some games on this website but I know someone will still find me lovable :)
