This beautiful Royal burgundy enrobed is one of the best quality games I have owned in my collection. The tiles are immaculate, the paint is in fabulous condition and the carving of the one bamboo is much more intricate than I have seen on other games of this style. The backs match perfectly (take a look at the picture of all 152 tiles above). The case is virtually unmarked and the burgundy Bakelite handle is in fabulous condition - no scratches or chips. The racks are to die for, they are all butterscotch, the swirling is magnificent and the E's are all matching in a butterscotch swirled Bakelite. All in all this game is exquisite out of the box and ready to be played with !

The tiles in this game are fantastic. They are a smooth shiny butterscotch Bakelite wrapped in a band of burgundy.

There are 12 flowers, 3 sets of beautiful bouquets, and 4 additional tiles that have been stickered so they can be used as jokers.

Royal made two styles of games, the soaring sparrow style and the picture frame style - this game is the latter style and probably the more popular of the two styles. This style of one bamboo is only found in Royal games. The game is from the late 1940's or possibly early 1950's. Additional Royal enrobed tiles have been added to this game to make it playable using NMJL (National Mah Jong League) or Chinese rules.
